Tour of the Havana coastline on the way to a sugar mill. Welcome and explanation of the sugar production process, which includes a tour of factory and tasting of sugarcane juice or guarapo. Visit to historical sites and to the cane derivatives production plant. Ride in a train still moved by an early 20th Century steam engine. Visit to a sugarcane plantation and a demonstration of manual cane cutting. Lunch included (traditional Cuban food).
Harvest season: 1 Feb - 15 April. Off-season, a video of the production process will be played. |
